Pravaachaka delves into the power structure in society and how women still find it difficult to be heard.
-Manu Remakanth in The Friday Review of The Hindu 28-05-2008
The characters in this play- Cassandra, Athena, and Apollo -from the Greek myths are allegories that tell
the plight of humankind. Power, its language, so far from the realities of ordinary men and women
creates war, violence and exploitation. And if a woman does speak out, she is deemed mad.
Pravaachaka created history of sorts being a play by a women’s theatre group, scripted and directed by
women that participated in the final round of Amateur Drama Competition conducted by Kerala
Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. The play went on to perform in several National Theatre Festivals including
